Experts share their daily skincare rituals, how they adapt them to each season, and other key tips for taking care of their skin. They are true skincare experts. Pharmacists not only care about our health but many of them have become beauty gurus for many customers who trust their knowledge and experience when choosing their cosmetics from the pharmacy. That's why we wanted to ask them about their facial care routines, as well as their essential products for both day and night, and how they adapt their routines in spring days.
What is their morning beauty ritual like?
As the years go by, we change our routines, how we clean our skin, and the products we use, just as we modify other practices depending on the season. I have shelves full of products, and depending on how my skin is, whether it's cold or if I've slept more or less hours, I use different products," explains our beauty expert and contributor Meritxell Martí, who explains that in her case, she lives in Andorra, "where the climate is quite dry and cold, but we don't have much pollution, so the skin appreciates it."
What is her morning routine like? "I usually alternate between foams and cleansing creams, although in the morning, I almost always opt for the foams. I like to rinse with water. Skin cleansing is very important, so I never skip a night without cleaning my face or a morning without doing it again," she explains. She also recommends frequent exfoliation, which helps stimulate collagen production. "As for exfoliants, I love enzymatic ones, like GH Enzymatic Peeling, which you can use in the morning because it doesn't irritate the skin, after cleansing."
The Daily Basics
- I love Novexpert's cleansing foam with vitamin C, which is slightly acidic and helps me remove all excess oil. I use it mostly in the summer.
- On days when I don't use this foam, when my skin feels drier, perhaps because it's colder or simply when I have more time, I use Emma Hardie's Moringa Cleansing Balm.
- I never skip applying toner afterward; if I don't do it, it's as if I haven't completed the cleaning. I use White Brightening Lotion from Eve Lom, always applied with cotton, or Osa Water Mist from Bioeffect, in spray form.
- Subsequently, when the skin is clean, I always apply Unique White Serum, two or three drops spread over the face, even around the eyes.
- After that, it's time for treatment. Lately, I love using Shiawasedo White Serum, which I mix with vitamin C powder from Dr. Sebagh (Pure Vitamin C Powder Cream). I've been using it for a while, and I love it; it's not greasy, gives luminosity, and tightens pores. To do this, I put a bit of serum and a bit of vitamin C powder in the palm of my hand, mix it all together, and apply it all over my face. On days when my skin is drier, I use Combray Regenerating Oil, an oil I recently discovered from Holland. It's important to apply oils with your fingertips and distribute them gently and in a circular motion, improving their penetration."
- Then I apply a moisturizer, like Dr. Sebagh's Sun-City Protection with sunscreen, which serves as a moisturizer, antioxidant, and sun protector.
And at night?
There are various factors that influence the condition of the skin, as Inmaculada Canterla tells us: "Seasonal changes (winter/summer in Seville), hormonal factors (sebum overproduction), specific treatments I've had in the cabin (laser, radiofrequency, peels, etc.), or emotional factors that cause me to adjust my nighttime routine; I adapt it." The expert explains that based on these factors, objectives are set, and treatment cycles are organized accordingly. She mainly focuses on aspects like radiance (luminosity), minor discolorations and pigment spots, balance in terms of hydration and oiliness, and pore size. "I can't stand feeling like my skin is dirty. I don't usually wear makeup every day, and if one day I have to put some color on my skin, I can't wait to get home and cleanse it. I like my skin to be scrupulously clean," she adds, and she tells us about her essential beauty products in her nighttime routine.
The Basic Products of Her Nighttime Routine
- I start with cleansing, "I use the same cleanser as in the morning, and I clean gently," she explains.
- Regarding cleansing milks and cleansing balms, she admits she doesn't use them much, although from time to time, she uses Bioeffect's cleansing mousse.
- "I usually use the same cream as in the morning, or Bioeffect's 30 Day Treatment, which is a beauty 'monodose' that contains EGF, my favorite," she adds.
- We can't forget the facial mask, a product that has become essential for many experts, such as Inmaculada Canterla, who recommends Sesderma's C-Vit Intensive Mask, the same brand as the eye contour she uses in the morning.
These are the products she uses in her morning and nighttime beauty routines. It's important to note that each person has a different skin type and may require specific products. It's important to consult with a dermatologist or skincare professional to determine the most suitable products for your skin type and individual needs.
Remember that skincare is a personalized process, and what works for one person may not work the same for another. Additionally, maintaining a consistent skincare routine is essential for long-term results.
If you want more beauty tips or specific product recommendations, don't hesitate to consult with a dermatologist or skincare expert.
